Overview for the Leica Builder 300 6 Second Reflectorless Total Station

Take measuring to a new level with the Leica Builder 300 (6-second) Total Station with EDM. Built with the needs of the construction site in mind, the rugged total station boasts superior yet easy to use technology, even for the complete novice.

One-Person Operation

You can obtain accurate measurements of distances up to 395 ft. using the reflectorless technology of the Leica Builder Total Station. Eliminating the need for a detail pole operator not only helps you save time and money, but you'll also improve safety and gain access to locations that were previously dangerous or inaccessible, such as overhead power lines, scaffolding, bridges, lakes and rivers, or hostile pets.

Easy Setup Wizard

Get started quickly with the computerized setup wizard. The control panel's 6-line LCD graphic display features an intuitive interface so you'll be successful from the start. Simply follow the display to level the builder, define your control line, enter desired offset values from a plan, and set out or record the points: in just a few minutes, you'll be ready to start taking accurate measurements with your Builder Total Station.

Pinpoint Laser Technology for Precise Measurements

If you've ever struggled with obtaining precise measurements with a standard laser, then you'll appreciate the patented narrow beam of the Leica Builder. Standard broad laser beams can lead to inaccurate measurements, since they measure not only the target, but also the area surrounding the target. A narrow beam, on the other hand, allows you to aim the laser around or under common obstacles like utilities poles or tree branches so you can hit your target with bulls-eye precision.

Versatile and Easy to Learn Software

The Leica 300 Builder Total Station comes with PowerSite, Leica's powerful software solution tailored specifically for the needs of the construction site. The PowerSite software works together with the Construction Data Manager, a Windows-based software application that supports the exchange of data between the Leica total station and your PC or laptop. The Construction Data Manager also handled data upload and download, upload of firmware, and installation of your choice of 3 of 24 additional languages on the Leica control panel. Take data management out on the field a step further by adding a handheld interface for data collection.

Eight Pre-loaded Measurement Functions for Maximum Usability

Eight different measurement functions come pre-loaded with the total station, and are quickly accessed through the applications program menu. Use the layout function to ensure alignment accuracy of columns, fencing lines, and formworks, and to ensure against racking in greenhouses or other structures. The area and volume function is perfect for checking to see if those windows fit, or to be doubly sure how much asphalt to order for a parking lot. Ideal for tender preparations of all kind, the area and volume function also allows for capturing of aligned surfaces, giving you the data you need on the spot.

Keep track of your earthworks progress by allowing you to accurately estimate how much yardage was really moved at the end of the day -the Leica Builder 300 allows you to get fast and accurate volume determination so that you won't need to guess when doing mass haul cuts and fills, stockpile monitoring, and cutting to formation.

Other application programs allow you to check to be sure drainage is at the right grade, Formwork is vertical, or that there is sufficient clearance between a crane and a roof. All checks can be done on site, and results are immediate, even when measuring to non-accessible points. The Leica 300 Total Station's microprocessor does all the hard work for you.

The application software also allows you free choice of setup positions, the choice of using control lines or coordinates for setup, as well as using the existing axis as the reference line. Use a USB stick to upload or download data, and record up to 15,000 points to the Leica Total Station, so that you'll never need to worry about losing your data. You can also choose to use the cable-free connection to upload a new AutoCAD plan on site, or transfer data directly from your PC or laptop with the R232 serial port.

No matter how you decide to use the Leica Builder 300 (9-second) Total Station for, you'll find that Leica Builder is the best solution for helping you save time, money, and improve safety, allowing you to spend more time focusing on being a leader in your industry.
